MYLARŪ
MylarŪ is an exceptionally strong, flexible, durable polyester film with
properties that make it extremely suitable for most Industrial applications.
Inert to water, MylarŪ acts as a moisture barrier and is unaffected by oil,
grease, and aromatics. It remains tough, clear and flexible from minus 100° F
to over 300° F and will not yellow or become brittle under normal conditions.
MylarŪ has excellent dielectric properties and can be used as an effective
insulator
in electrical applications.
Applications:
Type A Sheets are cloudy to white translucent.
Strong, tough, dimensionally
stable film for general purpose applications, such as engineering, apparel
stays,
and industrial laminations with other flexible materials.
Type S Transparent, clear film with a brilliant
surface designed for office supplies,
reproduction materials, stationary supplies, book jacket covers and sheet
protectors.
Can be used for apparel stays, drumheads, control tape, duct liners, protective
surfacing,
carbon ribbon, identification, spirit masters, metalized labels, solar
reflectors, photo substrates,
and decorative laminations.
Can be used for: Apparel stays, Drumheads, Control Tape, Duct Liners, Protective
Surfacing, Book Jackets, Carbon Ribbon, Identification, Spirit masters,
Metallized Labels,
Solar Reflectors, Photo Substrates, Decorative Laminations.
Type D Films offer the eye-appealing brilliance and
clarity needed for consumer products
with the strength and stability required for long-term service. Type D are
brilliantly clear films,
surface treated on one side to enhance slip and handling characteristics.
MylarŪ Type A films are tough, general purpose
films, which are transparent in 48 thorough
92 gauge and translucent in heavier gauges. They have a rough surface to provide
ease of handling,
good adhesion and processability. They are used for a broad range of industrial
applications,
including release films and office supplies.
MylarŪ Type A films have balanced tensile
properties, excellent resistance to moisture
and most chemicals. They can withstand temperature extremes from -70° C to
150° C
MylarŪ does not become brittle with age under normal conditions because it
contains no plasticizers.
Can be used for apparel stays, drumheads, control tape, duct liners, protective
surfacing,
carbon ribbon, identification, spirit masters, metalized labels, solar
reflectors, photo
substrates, and decorative laminations.
